This policy describes how we handle personal data for MoodMatch. It is not legal advice; consider counsel for your jurisdiction.

1. Summary

MoodMatch is a social app for people aged 18 and over to share moods, join vibe spaces, chat, and connect with others. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights.

2. Who this service is for

MoodMatch is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us at support@getmoodmatch.com.

3. Data we collect

We do not require photos for every account where the product allows it; some features may depend on photos.

4. How we use your data

We use data to run accounts, profiles, discovery, chat, vibe rooms, safety tools, subscriptions, security, abuse prevention, and to comply with law.

5. Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Where GDPR / UK GDPR applies: contract, legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement, moderation), consent where we ask clearly, and legal obligation.

6. Processors

We use Google Firebase / Google Cloud (auth, Firestore, storage, Functions, Analytics if enabled), Apple / Google (distribution, IAP), Google ML Kit where used on-device, and platform location services when enabled.

7. International transfers

Data may be processed outside the EEA/UK/Switzerland (e.g. US). We rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required. More: Google Cloud privacy notice or email us.

8. Retention

We keep data while your account is active and as needed for law, disputes, and agreements. Delete your account in-app where available, email us, or use our account deletion request page; we delete or anonymize from live systems within a reasonable time. Backups and legal holds may apply as described in our full policy.

Messages or content visible to others may remain in recipients’ views until they delete them or retention applies. Vibe rooms: messages in shared vibe rooms may be removed automatically after approximately 90 days from each message’s date (or another period we configure). Timing can vary slightly due to backups or processing.

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures (e.g. encryption in transit, access controls). No service is 100% secure.

10. Your rights

You may have rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict, object, port data, and withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Requests: support@getmoodmatch.com

11. Cookies & SDKs

The app uses local storage and SDKs (e.g. Firebase). We may use Firebase Analytics for aggregate usage; use OS controls where available.

12. Automated decisions

We do not use solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Mood-based discovery is part of the product, not automated credit or employment decisions.

13. Changes

We may update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be shown in the app.
